ABSTRACT

Destructive phenomena conditions, such as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, hostilities in Eastern Ukraine and the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014, and the Global Financial Crisis in 2008, have significantly affected Ukraine's environmental and economic security. The self-development processes of Ukraine's safety began to slow down, which led to the degradation of the interconnection system between the environment and the economy. The study aims to determine the destructive phenomena' impact on the environmental and economic security level of Ukraine using an improved method of normalised clustering indices to analyse the distribution of Ukraine's regions into homogeneous groups at the level of integrated environmental and economic security. This index is calculated based on stimulating and disincentive normative indicators from 2004 to 2020. With the help of clustering of regions, the adverse effects of destructive phenomena on individual parts and their groups were identified. The obtained results make it possible to track the positive and negative processes of state intervention in the mechanism to ensure the level of environmental and economic security.

ABSTRACT

The crisis of COVID-19 and the lockdowns announced in all countries of the world in early 2020 affected all people and areas of the economy, including education. In this regard, universities around the world were quickly forced to transform the education-A process into a distance format. Thus, the article analyses the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning and teaching for students, as well as the peculiarities of the response of universities to actual challenge. The article presents the results of scientific-theoretical and applied research on the problem of providing distance learning at a high-quality level. The authors used the case of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which was one of the first in Ukraine in 2020 to introduce a powerful distance educational platform "KNU Online". The scientific novels- of the study is that the authors analysed the current state of higher education in a pandemic and made a forecast of possible changes in the market of educational services using ICT. In addition, in the period of turbulence, the processes are analysed, when free economic zones are actively inclined to find innovative ways to increase their own level of competition and provide: educational services on quality, and continuous basis. It is proposal to use the case "KNU Online" as a good practice to obtain all the necessary range of educational services in the most accessible and convenient way.

ABSTRACT

The article identifies the theoretical aspects of e-commerce as an economic category, the problems of the current state of the e-commerce market related to the COVID-19 pandemic, consumer distrust and less functionality in the choice of clothing units. The aim of the article is the generalization, development and implementation of an expert system that will increase the functionality and efficiency of e- business. Research methods are mathematical apparatus for solving classification problems, regression, discrete methods, artificial neural networks, decision trees and other machine learning algorithms for solving classification problems, statistical methods and tools for data processing and analysis, data visualization tools. The problems of developing an expert system to increase the functionality of e-commerce were solved using R and Python programming languages, data processing and analysis. Practical significance of the research is to identify and use an effective algorithm for emotional analysis of the text, improve the method of collaborative filtering and develop an information system to provide recommendations to customers. As a result, the functionality and efficiency of e-commerce will increase. The obtained research results can be used as a methodological reference by software developers during the design and development of recommendation systems. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic dramatically and irreversibly transformed global e-commerce trends. The process of internationalization has been slowed down considerably, the level of globalization impact has decreased, that, consequently, has led to a strong lag in the development of some countries. The aim of the study is to determine the nature of e-commerce socio and economic effects in Ukraine, Poland, and Austria. For analysis, a modern mathematical apparatus was used – the Cobb-Douglas model and the Markov chain methodology. The study shows a significant positive impact of e-commerce on employment and GDP in the three countries. Thus, with an increase in investment levels in e-commerce and ICT by 1%, employment in Ukraine will increase by 0.02%, in Poland – by 0.14%, and in Austria – by 0.17%. Similarly, Ukraine’s GDP may rise by 0.07%, Poland’s – by 0.2% and Austria’s – by 0.07%. Therefore, a stable flow of investment in e-commerce will provide countries with a faster way out of the crisis, create more jobs and opportunities for business development.
